No Church on Sunday

Like everything else during the blizzard, church was cancelled. We were able to have some nice family time at home and tried to make it as spiritual as we could.

We wore our Sunday clothes....
And tried on our winter boots?

And enjoyed singing some Primary songs and Hymns on the piano. We had flannel board time in which the kids told me stories and I taught them about Noah's ark. Nate was gone most of the morning with the elders' quorum, as they were trying to shovel people out of their homes. But we enjoyed having him home after nap-time. I love days that are set apart for family and God. I have a hard time during the week trying to stay away from my long list of things to do and to stick to the basics of playing with my kids and studying my scriptures. I am trying to do as Elder Oaks adviced a few conferences ago... choose between Good Better And Best. Somehow it is easier on Sunday, when we do not turn the TV on (unless it is a church movie) and we focus on eachother. I wish I could make every day like Sunday, but alas I am mortal and have this nasty human flaw of being addicted to a few TV shows and to "taking it easy" at night once the kids are in bed. I have been doing a great job at not turning the TV on until the kids are in bed, and only allowing them 3-4 movies a week. I don't want TV or movies to be the only thing entertaining my kids.
