Well, now that it is February, I feel the need to quickly finish writing about Christmas. I know I have procrastinated and that I will now not be able to share as many details, but I guess it is better late than never!

One of the highlights of the gifts we were given this year was this book, made with tons of love and time and thought from Alisha. It is a book about Nathan and all his quirky ways. It is quite hilarious, with a cover of a big toe and several funny pictures throughout the book, all about the weird things that Nathan does. You'll have to see it to really appreciate it, but I'm sure it will be a fun family heirloom and will bring laughs for years to come!

Carter looking at his candy and not the camera, typical. At least Santa brought filled the kids stockings in Utah and they didn't have to wait for all of their Christmas.

A look at part of the room before everyone was up to start opening presents.

Me and my stocking, it was filled with good stuff! I never really had stockings growing up, so this is a fun tradition I have added to my life since marrying into the Clarks.

Lily liked to help open everyone's gifts.

I always look forward to Cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast. The Clarks also always have sausage bread and farmers breakfast. There is no shortage of food around the holidays and the calories really piled up during Christmas! YUM YUM!!!

Here is a shot of Nathans' stocking. Alisha thought he should be paid back after the years of his filling everyone elses' stockings with things like chicken boullion and bathroom cleaners. He got a duster, some Sazon, vinegar, and whatever else Alisha could stuff in there. It was really funny.

Nathan had a great time seeing some of the thoughtful gifts from his family.

Abigail LOVED the candy in her stocking and soon found that other people had candy in their stockings too. Between her and Lily there was a lot of missing candy for the next week. Lily seemed to have some kind of candy detector and we'd frequently find her eating something out of her "secret stash" that no one could seem to locate but her.

A look at the display of presents under and around the tree and pretty much covering the whole room. There is always an insane amount of gifts on Christmas morning.

Kaylie had a hard morning watching everyone else open gift after gift. She was seen going into the piano room trying to find any presents for herself and was sad for much of the morning, until she found this BIG one from Grandma and Grandpa. She loves this elephant and named it "Jungly". I love this elephant too, as it saved her from having a serious meltdown on Christmas morning. I was sad that we couldn't bring Santa's gifts with us to Utah, but the airplane couldn't possibly have fit her bike or Carters' basketball hoop! Our younger kids weren't phased with the lack of Santa gifts, but poor Kaylie was moaning until she got dear Jungly! YAH for grandma and pa, they saved the day! Thank You!!
It was hard for me to enjoy Christmas morning as much as I usually do, because I was worried about my kids. Last year we were able to have our own family Christmas for the first time, and it was really nice and simple. I think after going to Layton this year I am convinced (sadly) that our family needs to move on and start doing our own thing on Christmas morning. The kids need that attention and the chance to enjoy their presents and their own space to play. I love going to Utah and being there for Christmas, but I think this will probably be our last time for a long time.
