First Day of School- a month late!

Kaylie started 2nd grade, along with our good neighbor friend, Jake Cecil.  Carter started morning kindergarden.  They were so excited that they woke up an hour earlier than usual and were all dressed with shoes and backpacks and everything before they woke me up at 6:30.  The bus came at 7:20am.  I didn't cry as much this time (when Kaylie started kindergarden I was a nutcase), but I did get a little choked up seeing my boy all excited and growing up!

Lily insisted on wearing her own backpack and she really wanted to get on the bus, so I had to deal with a minor meltdown when she had to come home with me.

Apparently Kaylie and Jake like to "race the bus" and wait on a corner until it gets close enough to race to the bus stop.  I had never witnessed this before because my neighbor usually takes Kaylie to the bus stop for me.  I was cute but I was a little annoyed because I had to take quick pics while the other kids loaded up on the bus.

Kaylie had her birthday on the first day of school as well.. 7 years old already!  Her new teacher is Mrs. Donnally.  Carters' teacher is Ms. Brumberg and he comes home about 11am, just in time for lunch.

My first day with just Lily and Abigail in the morning.  It was interesting and a little harder to entertain them.  Now that we have been at it for another month, I love having just the girls for a few hours in the morning.  I have started a preschool time with them and they seem to love it.  I mostly have to come up with things to do outside or running errands to keep them out of trouble in the house (as long as the weather permits).  They too are growing a lot faster than I'd like, but then again I enjoy seeing them learn and understand things better.
