We had about 6 of Kaylies' friends over for her 7th birthday party. She wanted an "art" party and we ended up doing about 3 different crafts that were rather girly. Jake and Carter seemed to enjoy the crafts, even if they were girly. We had them make fruitloop/cheerio necklaces as they arrived (to have something to snack on during the party). Then they made these "princess" hats and friendship bracelets/anklets as well. The kids seemed to have a great time and Kaylie felt very loved and important.
Kaylie is definitely a mini-me and seems to like a lot of the same things as me. Without ANY coaxing from me, she requested grasshopper pie for her birthday (something I have had for the majority of my birthday celebrations). The rest of the kids really loved it and it was a hit for all (except Jake, who hates mint, and Anna, who has celiac disease). The pie went into the freezer looking terrific and there became rather lopsided and lost all the wording I had on top. My freezers are so stuffed that I was just impressed I was able to get the entire pan to fit!
Kaylie got some great gifts, mostly having to do with arts and crafts, which she loved. She has some great friends! This is Anna Mallett.

I love my birthday girl and had a great time spoiling her and trying my best to make her feel loved. She really had a blast and was on cloud 9 all day! We try to do parties with friends every other year, but it had been since Kaylie was 2 that we'd had a kid party for her (so we obviously hadn't been sticking to the every other year thing!).
