Celebrate!!!

Nathan was working like a slave from June-October on his Georgetown Hospital rotation.  He seriously left the house at 5am and usually didn't return home until after 9 or 10pm.  We were both exhausted to our core and anxiously awaiting the day that this "nightmare" of a rotation would end.  Well, now that it has been over for nearly a month, I need to write about it!  I guess I was just too tired to do so before :)  He didn't get very many days off (the last month was the worst, where he literally only had 2 days off for the entire month!!).  So, we just had to have a fun family celebration when he finished!
True to our family tradition of being "frugal" and having fun, we chose to go to Cici's Pizza as it was having an anniversary celebration.  We got all you can eat pizza, salad, pasta, and treats for less than $17 for our entire family.  It is one of our favorite places to go, when we feel like splurging (since we can take the kids there and fit in!).
Carter loved the automony offered in giving him free reign over his plate and letting him go and serve himself.
Kaylie showed him the ropes, as she has been serving herself for a few years now.  What a sweetheart!
Me and the girls after eating.  I was about 29 weeks pregnant at the time.  We had planned on going bowling to celebrate, but after driving in crazy traffic for about 1/2 hour to get there, we found that the entire alley was booked for a huge party that night!!  Figures...  so plan B turned out to be even better....

We took the kids to the batting cages and Nathan showed them how to bat.  He was in heaven, and both he and the 2 older kids keep begging to go back.  In fact, there has been talk of trying to have our own yard someday that will accomodate a batting cage of our own!!

Nathan dedicated so much of his youth to this sport, it was no surprise that he was able to hit many of the 90 milers way out of the park (at least if the gate hadn't have been there!)
 The kids watched in awe..

It didn't take long for Carter nor Kaylie to really get the hang of it and hit some great ones themselves!  They practice out back a lot with our t-ball holder and with Nate and I, so this was just a step up.
The girls just loved the freedom of running around.
Who says you can't bat when you're pregnant!  I surprised myself by still having a pretty good swing.

I want to be like dad!!

We went home after batting and watched a movie together, then slept in (til maybe 6:45am) when the kids got up and woke us.  It was a great night of celebration, followed by a nice weekend of General Conference.  We got to watch the entirety of all 4 sessions on our TV at home, and Nathan was even able to attend the priesthood session.  We love conference and felt spoiled that we were able to watch it from our own home (the first time on cable since I can remember!).
