"Day Off"

Today was Nate's first day off in about 2 weeks and all I can say is that it went by WAY TOO FAST! It always does. They say time flies when you're having fun. We spent the morning on normal routine things like cleaning the kitchen and taking care of the kids. Then, after what seemed like hours of doing the same thing I do every day (clean clean and try to keep the kids from making more messes while I clean), we decided to get out and do something fun. We had some free coupons for meals at 2 different Mexican restaurants and ended up getting 4 entrees and 2 drinks for $9. It was a pretty good deal and a huge meal for our family. We enjoyed the meal and then went to the Harris Teeter grocery store (an upscale store that had a great deal on canned veggies). After that we went to a guys house that Nate found on Craigslist to buy more weights. He ended up spending all of the cash I had on 4 fifty pound weights that he was rather excited about. I think he's got over 1000 lbs. of weights in our garage now. I get excited about cheap canned veggies and he gets his kicks from weights and work out stuff. Too each his own. We are happy and healthy and enjoying a bit of family time and the ability to enjoy some of the things we love about life. On the way home we saw one of the biggest and most gorgeous rainbows I've ever seen. We almost saw the whole thing as it stretched across the sky to the side of our van. It was a simple reminder that God is aware of us and cares about us and wants us to be happy. It can be all too easy to forget that these days amongst the garb of the world. I truly am grateful for my beautiful children and for the precious time we get with their daddy.
