This was the first year since we've been married, that Nathan and I have been invited to any work party during the holidays. We weren't quite sure what to expect, and I debated whether we were supposed to dress up or not. Our biggest fear was taking the kids, as most adults don't usually bring young kids anywhere, and we knew that there would be drinking involved. I dressed them up really cute (it's easier to not get mad when they look really cute) and off we went. The party was held at a Dr.'s house that Nathan had just met the day before. I didn't know a soul, and Nathan only knew a handful of people.

They ended up having a nice room tucked away, where we joined the only other family there with kids, and enjoyed a nice, free meal, that I didn't have to cook. It was interesting food, very gourmet (not what we are used to eating at all). They were definitely professional and not Mormon. They even had a live bar there, where I ordered apple juice for the kids and refined water for myself and Nathan. We didn't end up staying very long, but our visit was short and sweet. We had a good time and a nice meal and left before the kids broke anything.

They had a whole box of fun Christmas hats that apparently they use at the hospital for the nurses and Dr.'s to wear. The kids enjoyed playing dress up with a few of the hats.
