One of the main activities during break this year was puzzle time. Nate seemed to have a puzzle bug and did just about every puzzle we own. The kids "helped".

I Cried the Day that we took the tree down... NOT. Bye Bye Broken Tree!
The kids had fun painting Christmas ornaments for next year. They did a great job and it will be nice to have more ornaments that aren't "breakable" (or at least that I don't care about breaking :).
Sweet and Sour Meatballs for New Years Eve
Nate made some terrific donuts with watermelon and strawberry frosting, and I made a chocolate coconut pie.
We had a really random New Year's Eve meal of appetizers and fried dough (which was more like dense donuts). YUM! Shrimp, meatballs, vegetables, cheetos and Sparkling Grape Juice.
The kids and Nate found a new trail by our house where they saw some deer. I took the kids again, this time prepared with a camera. The kids had been watching too much "I Shouldn't Be Alive" with Nate and didn't want to leave the house without being prepared.. they each had a backpack with gloves, blankies and who knows what else- it was pretty cute.
Lily kept trailing behind in hopes that I wouldn't see her eat the dirty snow or any gum that she might possibly find on the forest floor!
The kids enjoyed the ice on teh ground and tried to eat it.. yuck!
It was actually warm enough that the kids were able to swing and play at the park... Carter even roughed it without his coat on while he played.
Showing off his swinging skills
And his sliding ones too?
We had a great break with all our kids at home and were sad to have to start the school schedule again. I hate having to plan my day around school and look forward to the summer break already!
