All snug and settled in for a movie, I think all is well until I see where Abigail is sitting... in Graces' swing!!! We had 4 canceled school days in a row this last week and about 10 inches of snow to show for it. The first night I understood, when there was a storm of freezing rain that left nearly an inch of ice on the roads. The day of the snow storm, there was no snow until school would've been out anyway, but it was canceled nonetheless. Nate had to work that day and by the time he was driving home (around 3pm) the blizzard hit full force. The traffic here is insane and gets intense when there is any bad weather. Nate was lucky to make it home (from Loudoun hospital, a usual 20 minute drive) in about an hour and a half. He had colleagues working at Fairfax hospital that left and weren't able to even get out of the parking lot for an hour and a half! Another doctor he worked with left around 4 and didn't get home until around 2 am- that's a ten hour commute! (it is usually about an hour). Nate also commented on the fact that many people had simply abandoned their cars and left them on the road or exits from the toll roads. Many people in our neighborhood got stuck. We were very lucky that Nathan was able to get home when he did! Along with the snow days we also had some sick days. Carter was the only one that ended up getting sick, but he had it pretty bad. He had a high fever and throw-up... a 24 hour flu. YUCK! Luckily he didn't end up missing any school from it :)

Glad Nate got home in reasonable time. My commute was 10.5 hours! Craziness!
In fact, now I'm sick in bed and think it was partially from all the exhaust fumes. Ah well...
Hope school starts back up soon so you get a little break. (-:
