After Uncle Dave's house, we drove back toward Niagara Falls, where we had a hotel reservation at the Holiday Inn Express. It turned out to be the nicest hotel around and by far the nicest one we'd ever stayed at as a family. Nathan and I learned a very good lesson from it too: we could've just stayed in VA and got a hotel down the road from home, that offered a pool and a continental breakfast, and the kids would've been on cloud 9. They were so happy and overly excited about staying there that we were amazed.

The continental breakfast in the morning was terrific! It had omelets, sausage, cereals, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, toast, cinnamon rolls, juices, etc. The kids were in heaven and it was so nice to not have to worry about what to feed them in the morning. I was looking forward to a nice morning of sleeping in to make up for the lack of a real nap during traveling time, but Nathan had other plans. His internal clock requires so much less recharge time than mine I often grow jealous of his ability to just go and go without sleeping or even showing signs of fatigue. Abigail woke up sometime in the middle of the early evening and had peed through her pajamas and all over her port-a-crib. I was too tired to find her some new clothes and clean the crib, so I just brought her in our bed with us. BIG MISTAKE!!! I don't think I slept more than a few hours that night. She was either on top of me or stealing my blankets the rest of the night and I could'nt really fall asleep under those circumstances. So, when Nathan woke up at 6:30 and made enough noise to wake the kids up, I was a little annoyed. He kindly took the kids down for the breakfast at 7 and said that I could stay and sleep. I tried, but to no avail. So I took advantage and showered while I could before joining them downstairs.

Yummy way to start the day!
