A Visit to Forest Grove

This was a special week for Kaylie at school. She got to be star of the week and bring pictures and show and tell items to show her class. On top of that it was American Education Week, and the class got to invited family to come and participate in a few festivities. This is Kaylie's first grade classroom. We got to visit her for edcuation week and were treated to a cute little song/play, some cookies and juice (that we helped provide), a turkey craft, and some time with the 2 class bunny rabbits.

This is Kaylie's teacher, Mrs. Betty. She is very kind and really seems to enjoy having Kaylie in her class. While we were there she told me of how responsible and good Kaylie is. She said that Kaylie is always finding ways to help out around the classroom, whether it be aiding a fellow student to finish their work, or cleaning up the art table even if she didn't use it. I wasn't surprised about the praise Kaylie received, I love having her home for the very same reason. She is a special and mature little 6 year old!

Carter, Lily and Abigail enjoyed looking at and trying to pet the class pets, Tilly and Thumper.

Her class sang a song called "Alberquerque, He's my Turkey" and then recited a poem about Humpty Dumpty. It was really cute and the class did a great job. I think Kaylie really enjoys to perform, although she can get a little too caught up in it that she forgets her words. She is a natural on stage though and seemed happy in her element. This was also the week before Thanksgiving, so there is always an element of excitement in the air, knowing the holidays are upon us.
