Halloween Fun!!!

We bought two pumpkins this year, one really big one to carve, and one to cook our dinner in. We waited until just before we left to go trick-or-treating to carve this big pumpkin. The kids had fun, but not more than Nathan!
Getting the goo out is oh so fun. The babies wanted to eat it- Yuck!

The final look. Kaylie got angry when Nate cut the nose like this, but it looked pretty cool lit up, although I didn't get a picture of it. Nate cut the whole pumpkin up the morning after Halloween and then cooked it so that we could have lots of pumpkin for cooking. It was great. We ended up with enough pumpkin for 8 big bags that we froze to use throughout the year. Yummy!!

The aftermath.... Yum Yum! The kids got a ton of candy. Lily seemed to bring in the biggest haul because she didn't seem to understand that once they gave you a piece of candy you should walk away; she would just stand there and they'd give her more, or she'd grab more from their bowls! She also refused to let us help her carry the candy, she didn't want any stealing taking place! We went trick-or-treating with our neighbors, the Cecils. They took a lot of pictures on their camera, but we didn't even bring ours so we'll have to post again once they send us some of the pics. I should also mention that we went to the church on the 30th for a fun trunk-or-treat activity. We were just getting over the Swine flu however, and didn't feel too energetic for it. The kids went to the trunks and about halfway through Kaylie said she wasn't feeling well and went back to the car to Nathan and Abigail, who also felt really sick. Luckily they were better for Halloween night!
