Halloween

We always love Halloween and have a great time anticipating and eating the loads of candy and seeing what costumes the kids will pick out of our dress up box.  Kaylie continues to refuse any "girly" costumes and chose to wear the Ninja outfit instead of the cowgirl, gypsy, or princess we had for her.  Lily was all about being a princess, but when it came time for it, we couldn't find the crown and she ended up being a "good witch".  Carter was content being a skeleton and even chose that over his Mr. Incredibles and Spiderman costumes.  I even whipped out my old stage makeup from college and tried to make them look a little more "real" although my skills are pretty pathetic and considering I had about 1 minute to do it, they at least thought it was fun.
Abigail had the most adorable costume... although I can't think of a good name for it.... the "bee fairy" maybe?  She was super cute and seemed to enjoy the attention it got her.
We had both a school halloween walk, at Forest Grove Elementary, and a trunk or treat at the church the night before halloween.  Since it was on a Sunday this year, we were grateful to have 2 other ways of collecting a loot :)
This was the focused dance energy before getting candy, while we played Halloween songs like "Monstermash and Ghostbusters".  The kids love to dance and are funny to watch.
This was supposed to be Kaylies' close up but unfortunately didn't turn out to be so close!  My ninja girl!
Lily loves being in front of the camera, especially when she has makeup and is dressed as a princess!
Carters makeup is hilarious, I know, but at least he couldn't tell :)
Couldn't get Abigail to look at me at all, so here are a few shots to try and show how cute she was....

Nathan had the yearning for some pumpkin donuts on Halloween.  Our normal tradition is to have donuts on Halloween morning for breakfast (to add to the nutrition of the holiday) and we veered from it a little this year in that Nate and the kids made them from scratch.  They turned out rather delicious and I think  it might become our new tradition (so long as Nathan is willing and able to do it).  The kids had fun dipping the fried dough into powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar, and we all enjoyed eating them.  We love pumpkin and Nathan even cooked some down for me from our Jack-o-lantern and we froze about 10 bags of it to use throughout the year (YUM)!!

We didn't really have anything to make a good hole in the middle, but hey, who needs a hole?  They still tasted great.
