Our other Halloween tradition is to have dinner in a pumpkin on Halloween night. I carve out all the seeds and things and then add some rice/meat/spice mixture. Once it cooks for about an hour the pumpkin itself is soft enough to eat and goes really well with the mixture. Kaylie loves the dinner and the other kids tolerate it alright.
Kaylie got to color the face on with permanent marker, which made up for the fact that Nathan let her help carve the Jack-o-lantern and then cut it up within a manner of 20 minutes. Kaylie had a bit of a meltdown about it so I was glad we still had this little one to make up for it.
