Yippee! The weather is finally turning to Spring! I absolutely love the flowers blossoming and the "popcorn" trees. It has been sunny for the last few days and it even got up to 75 degrees today. The kids and I had a fun day yesterday. We went to the grocery store and I promised them donuts if they were well behaved. We bought a dozen for $4!. Then we got some Taco Bell for dinner (I spent $3.50 for all of us) and we went to the STerling library/Community Center to eat it. It is connected to a fun park that we just happened to see some friends from church gathering at. We went out to play and they invited us to join them in a birthday party for an 11-year-old girl in our ward. I felt bad for her since the next oldest kid was only 8 years, and most of the kids gathered there were my childrens' ages. She didn't seem to mind and the kids absolutely loved being a part of the party and getting to swing at the pinata! They each came home with a cup full of candy and ate more than I'd like to admit.
We also got to enjoy some time exercising. I took the kids on a bike ride/run. Kaylie and her friend Jake led the way on their 2 wheel bikes, and I strolled the babies in my running stroller. Carter slowed us all down on his "Big"Wheel and it seemed way to small and slow for him. I think he has grown about 3 inches in the past week. All of a sudden most of his shirts are too short and he can't get them over his head. His pants are all short. He is a little taller than my belly button and he now weighs 48 lbs.! I can't believe how quickly children grow!
We had some of our donuts for breakfast this morning, but I made each of the kids eat a banana before they could have a donut. Lily ate one bite of banana and refused to eat any more. She didn't get a donut. Abigail ate a whole banana and then finished Lily's banana. Carter got up from naptime before I did and ate at least 2 donuts. What a stinker! Kids will be kids.
