This past Saturday/Sunday we celebrated Easter in true Clark style. We had the kids do a little Easter Basket and egg hunt at home on Sat. They each got a pail and little shovel with little goodies like a kite, ball, paint brushes, etc. They enjoyed the little treasures and we had fun watching them find them. Lily was really funny to watch. She walked into the room and saw the little chocolate eggs I had placed on the floor, and instead of "gathering" she just went straight to eating. She opened chocolate after chocolate and ate and ate until she couldn't eat any more! Meanwhile, Carter and Kaylie had a great time finding all the hidden eggs with jelly beans in them. We also colored some hard boiled eggs and put up some Easter bunny decorations.
Sunday I was really busy with getting the choir program ready for church. We had rehearsal in the morning and then performed 5 songs and the narration I had prepared for sacrament. It went well, despite how hard it was to get people to come and rehearse with us. I was really worried about it, but it turned out rather nice and I was pleased. More importantly, I know that Heavenly Father accepted my efforts and found them sufficient. My whole goal was to help the congregation feel the spirit, and I think I accomplished that.
After church we had some of our favorite families, the Ercanbracks and Eliesons, over for dinner. We provided a 15lb. ham and an orange creme bunny cake and our friends brought baked potatoes and rolls. We ate dinner and watched "The Lamb of God". Overall, it was a great Easter and I felt like we had a good balance between the worldly Easter and the more appropriate real reason to celebrate. The kids had fun learning about the resurrection and the way Christ conquered death.
