Lil Abs and the Bull Face

Oh how I love my children and the things that they constantly teach me. I have not yet posted a blog about my dear little Abigail - shame on me! She is the sweetest most content and easy baby I have ever met, let alone raised. Abigail is nearly 9 months old and has been by far the slowest to move of all my kids- she shows very little interest in being mobile and is just so content to sit and watch that she just doesn't get excited about going after the toys or following her siblings. She has been sitting for about 2 1/2 months now and can roll over, but most of the time chooses not too. She enjoys sitting in her bumbo seat and high chair, as is getting good at walking backwards in her walker. She is getting better about being on her tummy, but doesn't like it very much. I have been putting her on her tummy for quite some time, trying to motivate her to crawl, but she shows absolutely no interest. She is a really large girl. She now weighs 20 lbs. and carrying her in her carseat nearly kills my back. She is in the 90% for weight, but when it comes to height she is way off the chart! I took her in for shots a few weeks ago and the nurse was amazed at her height. She tried to measure her with the little measuring tape they use for all babies, but Abigail was too tall. We had to take her and stand her up against the wall chart- something the nurse said she had never had to do with a baby under a year old (and Abby still has 4 months for that age!). She is 2 1/2 feet tall at 8 months of age- that probably means that she will be a really tall woman. My mom said I should buy her a little basketball hoop and get her started on a talent early!

I just love this baby girl to pieces. She is cute, playful, and is a joy to have around. She is starting to feed herself and seems to really enjoy the challenge and the taste. She loves to eat and has not been picky at all- she eats everything I give her eagerly! So easy! This picture nearly captures her new face, that we call "The Bull". She does it quite often now and it makes us laugh. What a silly doll!
