Cozy Christmas

Well, we officially celebrated our 6th Christmas together as a couple, and our first on our own. We have had the privilege of going to Layton and spending at least a week during Christmas Break, for the past 5 years, and that streak of luck ran out this year. However, we managed to have a terrific time with our kids and kept up some fun traditions as well as made new ones. Christmas is always such a neat time of year and it was even more fun to be able to live it through the eyes of our children. Their eyes glowed as much as the festive lights as we decorated, wrapped presents, made goody plates, went caroling with friends, and anticipated Santa's visit. Santa was probably too generous this year and I'll have to remind him next year to go easy. The kids woke up Christmas morning to quite the loot! We had a new bunk bed for Kaylie and Carter, as well as many big presents for each child. It was a real treat to watch them open and take turns, each super excited to see what everyone got for them. They gave all the credit to Santa, but I have to say that his wife did most of the work! It was a really nice time and we made lots of memories. Carter keeps walking around the house singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and changing some of the words to potty words- a bad habit we have been working hard to get rid of but can't seem to get it to connect in his mind. Anyhow, it is somewhat humorous and I love to hear him try and sing!
